Throw Wide the Gates

Naming a ministry is harder than writing a song. At least it has been for me and I have friends who will verify that fact. I have been brainstorming for several months about what to title the ministry idea God has placed in my heart. During these months, I have completed the writing of 4 songs and jotted down numerous other ideas for songs as well, but the name I was searching for seemed to escape my thoughts no matter how much I meditated on scripture, prayed (pleaded with God), and wrote down as many names that crossed my mind. Nothing...absolutely no title conveyed the message of the ministry in my heart. Everything on hold until the title was decided upon and the title again needed to give a quick explanation of the ministry's purpose.

Any type of promotional advertising...on hold!
The recording of the first album....on hold!

But then I was reading through Isaiah (The Message)...I love Isaiah...and from the 26th chapter these words seemed to jump from the page: "Throw wide the gates so good and true people can enter", from Isaiah 26:1-6 (The Message). Read this passage from The Message if you get the chance and if you don't have The Message paraphrase go to http://www.biblegateway.com/ and use the on-line Bible provided here. From this passage in Isaiah, I have derived the name "Gates Wide" for the ministry's name. I am excited to have this first step behind me. It is often said that the first step is the hardest and I can definitely attest to this truth.

Now when do we start running! Because the....

Gates Wide!!!
